Be Life Changing

We all have experienced moments, days, weeks, months and now years that could be called life changing.  To categorize as Life Changing, I believe there is certainly an effect that occurs that is strong enough to change the trajectory of someone’s life.  Life changing consequences create a blow—either good or bad–that has lasting impact.

It really doesn’t take long to have a life changing experience.  It could be a chance encounter.  It could be a tough diagnosis.  It could be simple words, spoken in an uplifting way that are cemented on your heart forever.  I heard those words from Judeth Javorek, who was leading Holland Hospital over 20 years ago.  When I asked her the impact of our work together with her key leaders and managers, she said, “you have taught us the best way for each leader to grow and enhance their career; how each one can assume responsibility; how they tend to process and make decisions; and how they can be consistent, genuine, and authentic.”  Those words have stayed with me all these years.  In many ways, they have become the mountain I want to climb with each person and team we work with.

Experiences that deeply change our lives include:

  • Getting married
  • Having children
  • Driving alone for the first time
  • Loss of any kind—a loved one—a job—a friendship—a home—a business—your voice
  • Accepting Jesus into your heart
  • Attending a 12 Step program
  • Having a mentor or coach who spends time with you

So many life changing moments are in self-discovery and self-awareness.  These are moments that make you and set you on a course for who you will be.  Steve Johnson, from Ferox Consulting provided some specific examples of how his life changed through the services we provided to him over the years.  If you want to read the full article:  Here it is!  But the biggest life changer for Steve was, “I can now plant a garden with my wife.”

One of our core values is to Be Life Changing.  I believe this starts by practicing goodness wherever we go.  When we can do that, we touch people in authentic ways.  Our goal is to have one hundred people share with us how we may have impacted their life over the years.  If you are willing to do that, we’d love to hear from you.  Change happens:  one gesture, one person, one moment at a time.
